March 9, 2009

Those present:  Vicki Friske, Lisa Morrissett, Leslie Cassidy, Beth Tengowski, Suzanne Fink, Liesl Schneider, and Lora Dillon

Chairman:  Vicki Friske

·        Vicki motioned to approve the Feb. Minutes.  Lisa seconded and the minutes were approved.

·        Bus funding for the JK field trip to the dentist was approved, not to exceed $100.

·        The amount set aside for the 6th grade field trip was upped from $100.00 - $200.00.

·        Joni has not yet heard back about our tax-exempt status.

·        For the KSF scholarship, it was decided that students may include references with their application and resume, but not other examples of school work.

Financial Committee:  Lisa Morrissett

·        We are right on-budget for the 2008-2009 wish list and bus funding.  Balance for the first half of the school year has been paid in full.

·        Craft Fair bills have been paid.  Lisa will receive a check from the Village Tourism Dept. for $5200.00 as reimbursement for the Craft Fair.

Program Committee:  Beth Tengowski

·        Climb Theater will be coming April 6th and 7th.  Programs will include 1st-9th grades.  Themes:

o   1st-4th—Friendship

o   5th-9th—Gossip, cliques, and exclusion

·        Monday April 27th a speaker from M.A.D.D will address 9th-12th grade students.  The speaker is a local mom who has had personal experience.  Parents will be notified prior to the presentation, as the videotape to be shown is quite graphic.  Counselors will be available following the assembly and the next day for students wanting to talk.

·        Grandparent’s Day:  $250.00 will be given to Mrs. Jaberg to assist with Grandparent’s Day.  Mrs. Jaberg and her committee will decide how best to use it for the day’s events.

·        Wacky Wednesday will be May 13th!  Students 1st-6th grade will get to participate in 3 hours of alternative education on May’s early release day.  Students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities offered during the morning such as geocaching, safe weight training, yoga, and chess, to name a few.  The morning activities will be followed by an Elementary School assembly for the performance of SchoolHouse Rock.  Flyers will be going home in backpacks.

Fundraising Committee:

·        Order forms and materials for the Original Artwork fundraiser will go home with students AFTER spring break.  Orders will be arriving in time for Father’s Day.

·        We looked at 2 proposals of playground equipment provided by Burke company and came to a consensus as to which would be best.  Currently, the proposed price for the equipment and installation is $30,600.00.  This does not include a surface foundation.

·        Vicki will ask the Burke rep to investigate the price of a rubber mat-like ground cover or imitation grass floor.  This type of floor could greatly help with the bee and wasp problem.  The playground will be installed in 2 days time this summer.

·        We will replace the Innisbrook fundraiser with a similar program through Market Day.  The promotion will again be in the fall.

·        Upromise has $58.94 in the account currently.

·        Registration forms for the Kohler Classic will go out at the end of March.

·        Diane Kelly and Stacy Karbe will be returning to plan Trivia Night in 2010!  Thanks, Ladies!

Minutes respectfully submitted by Lora Dillon.

The next meeting is Monday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the Theater hallway.
